The electricity supply of Shantou is connected with the power transmission network of Guangdong Province. Except the power supplied by the network of Guangdong Province, the local power network has an installed capacity of 1.656 million kilowatt. The annual power supply is 3.4 billion kilowatt-hours. The capacity of power supply in Shantou is sufficient.

Water Supply

　　Shantou has 4 waterworks with a daily supply capacity of 920,000 tons. The first phase of the No. 4 Waterworks which is designed to supply water 800, 000 tons per day, has been put into operation. With the completing of the project, water supply for the urban area shall reach 1.52 million tons per day.
